They will ask for your passport
Hotels and rented flats in Italy have to register every guest, so ecco il passaporto is one of the first things you say. Some hosts ask for a photo of it before you arrive instead.
Matrimoniale is a double bed
Una camera matrimoniale is a room with a double bed; due letti is two singles. Una singola is a room for one. The word has nothing to do with being married.
The tourist tax is paid there
Most Italian cities charge a tassa di soggiorno per person per night, and it is often not in the price you booked. It is usually paid at the desk or to the host when you leave, sometimes only in cash.
